The Barefoot Challenge has events planned the whole weekend. Here are the details…
Friday, August 27
- 7pm till ??? – Welcome Party – Check Back for More Details
Saturday, August 28 – Figure-8 Tournament
Open Division Only, Double Elimination Format, Pulled Behind a MasterCraft, Speed is 40-42 MPH, Cash Pay Out, Entry Fee is $45.
The Figure-8 Tournament will be held at Britingham Park. The entrance to the park is off West Washington Avenue near the intersection with Park Street.
- 9am – 10am – Registration and Skiers Meeting
- 10am – 5pm – Figure-8′s
- 5pm – 9pm – Clean Lakes Festival – Music, Food and a Beer Tent for for those of age on beautiful Lake Monona at Olin Park. Visit the rest of the Clean Lakes Festival website for more details.
Sunday, August 29 – Barefoot Endurance Race
Team’s Chosen by School Yard Pick, 4-5 person teams, deep water barefoot start is required, Awards, Entry Fee is $10 for boat gas.
- 630am – 7am – Check In & Skiers Meeting
- 715am – Race Starts
- There will be heats and finals if there are enough participants
This event is intended to be fun and provide an opportunity for barefooters who have never experienced the thrill of team racing. The race be on either Lake Monona or Lake Waubesa and the number of laps will be determined at race time depending on the weather.
